Irish Indie Rock-events deze week in London

Irish indie rock originated in the late 20th century, evolving from Ireland's post-punk and alternative scenes while incorporating regional folk sensibilities. The genre typically utilizes a core instrumentation of distorted or crystalline electric guitars, driving bass lines, and energetic drumming, occasionally augmented by acoustic textures. Its rhythm and tempo usually range from mid-tempo melodic anthems to fast-paced, high-energy tracks, often characterized by a mood that balances raw introspection with euphoric, stadium-ready choruses. Semantically, it sits between traditional Celtic influences and global indie-alternative movements, sharing structural similarities with Britpop while maintaining a distinct lyrical focus on Irish identity and social landscapes.
