Neo Classical Metal-events dit weekend in London

Neoclassical metal emerged in the 1980s as a sophisticated fusion of heavy metal and Western classical music, particularly drawing from the Baroque and Classical eras. Characterized by virtuosic displays of technical proficiency, the genre heavily features rapid sweep-picked arpeggios, pedal point techniques, and harmonic minor scales performed on highly distorted electric guitars. Traditional rock instrumentation including bass and drums is often augmented by synthesizers or orchestral arrangements to evoke a dramatic, epic atmosphere. While it shares the aggressive energy of speed metal, its structural complexity and melodic phrasing are directly inspired by composers like Vivaldi, Bach, and Paganini, creating a grandiose and theatrical listening experience.
