Klankprofiel
Een underground sound met nadruk op zang.
Orgcore is a niche subgenre of melodic punk rock that emerged in the late 1990s and gained prominence through the Gainesville, Florida scene and the influence of Punknews.org. Characterized by gravelly, raspy vocals and anthemic, heart-on-sleeve lyricism, it typically utilizes standard punk instrumentation of distorted electric guitars, driving bass lines, and high-energy percussion. The genre maintains a moderate to fast tempo and an earnest, communal mood that bridges the gap between traditional melodic hardcore and anthemic pop-punk. Semantically, it is often associated with the DIY ethics of the Fest and labels like No Idea Records, emphasizing raw authenticity over commercial polish and fostering a dedicated, grassroots fanbase.
