British Folk-events deze maand in Los Angeles

British folk music originates from the deep-rooted oral traditions and communal storytelling of the British Isles, encompassing regional styles from England, Scotland, and Wales. Traditionally characterized by acoustic instrumentation such as the fiddle, tin whistle, concertina, and acoustic guitar, the genre emphasizes lyrical narrative and modal melodic structures. Its rhythmic foundation often utilizes steady 4/4 or 3/4 meters, maintaining a tempo that facilitates dance or narrative clarity, creating a mood that shifts between melancholic introspection and spirited celebration. As a foundational ancestor to folk-rock and modern indie-folk, British folk maintains a distinct identity through its focus on heritage, traditional ballads, and organic, unpolished performances.
