Industrial Noise-events in Los Angeles

Emerging in the late 1970s as a radical offshoot of industrial music, industrial noise prioritizes abrasive textures and non-musical sound over traditional melodic structures. The genre typically utilizes unconventional instrumentation, including contact microphones, power tools, and distorted synthesizers, to create a dehumanizing and confrontational auditory experience. Its rhythm is often erratic or non-existent, characterized by extreme volume and dense layers of static that evoke feelings of urban decay and technological dread. While sharing philosophical roots with avant-garde movements, it maintains a distinct semantic relationship with power electronics and harsh noise wall, pushing the boundaries of sonic extremity through deliberate mechanical dissonance and raw, unpolished production techniques.
