Nu Metal-events deze maand in Los Angeles

Emerging in the mid-1990s, nu metal is a subgenre of alternative metal that fuses heavy metal elements with influences from hip hop, industrial music, and funk. It is characterized by heavily down-tuned electric guitars—frequently seven-string models—playing syncopated, groove-driven riffs alongside prominent bass lines and percussive, often turntable-enhanced electronic textures. Vocal styles vary widely, incorporating rapping, melodic singing, and aggressive screaming to convey themes of personal angst, alienation, and social rebellion. While sharing the intensity of traditional metal, the genre prioritizes rhythmic bounce and song structure over complex guitar solos, positioning it as a commercially successful bridge between alternative rock and extreme music.
