Plugg-events deze week in Los Angeles

Plugg is an ethereal subgenre of trap music that emerged from Atlanta in the mid-2010s, pioneered by production collectives like BeatPluggz. It is characterized by its signature bouncy 808 basslines, staccato flute or synth melodies, and a specific rhythmic percussion style heavily influenced by the work of Zaytoven. The genre maintains a relaxed yet highly rhythmic tempo, typically ranging between 130 and 150 BPM, creating a breezy and atmospheric mood that contrasts sharply with the aggressive tone of traditional trap. While it shares structural DNA with Southern hip-hop, its minimalist and melodic approach provided the foundational aesthetic for later internet-born movements like pluggnb and cloud rap.
