Scenecore-events in Los Angeles

Scenecore originated in the mid-2000s as a sonic extension of the internet-driven "scene" subculture, blending elements of metalcore, post-hardcore, and electronic dance music. The genre is characterized by a high-energy juxtaposition of distorted guitar riffs and aggressive breakdowns with sugary synthesizer melodies, programmed beats, and heavily processed Auto-Tune vocals. Its frantic tempo and neon-aesthetic production create a mood that fluctuates between angst-ridden aggression and hyperactive pop sensibility, often bridging the gap between underground alternative rock and early digital maximalism. This style serves as a crucial predecessor to modern hyperpop, maintaining a distinct focus on DIY digital production and expressive, often chaotic, youth-oriented emotional themes.
