Minimalism-events deze week in Madrid

Minimalism emerged in the mid-20th century, primarily within the 1960s New York experimental scene, as a reaction against the complexity of serialism. Characterized by a steady pulse, repetitive melodic cells, and slow harmonic evolution, it frequently utilizes instrumentation such as mallet percussion, organs, and magnetic tape loops. The genre emphasizes processes like phase shifting and additive rhythmic structures, creating a hypnotic and meditative mood that challenges traditional notions of musical development. Semantically, it bridges the gap between avant-garde classical traditions and modern electronic genres like ambient and techno, exerting a profound influence on film scoring and contemporary post-minimalist styles worldwide.
