Space Rock-events dit weekend in Madrid

Emerging from the late 1960s British psychedelic scene, space rock is characterized by its focus on atmospheric textures and cosmic themes, pioneered by bands like Hawkwind and Pink Floyd. The genre's instrumentation typically blends standard rock setups of electric guitars and drums with prominent synthesizers, echoes, and reverberation effects to create a sense of vast, interstellar emptiness. Rhythms are often steady or hypnotic, occasionally drawing from krautrock's motorik pulses, while the mood leans toward the transcendental, futuristic, and trippy. Semantically, it bridges the gap between traditional psychedelic rock and later developments like shoegaze and stoner rock, prioritizing sonic exploration over conventional song structures.
