Brazilian Rock-concerten en liveshows in New York City

Brazilian Rock originated in the late 1950s, evolving from early rock and roll covers into the culturally significant "BRock" movement of the 1980s that voiced post-dictatorship sentiments. The genre typically utilizes standard rock instrumentation like electric guitars, bass, and drums, frequently blending these with distinct Brazilian rhythmic sensibilities derived from Samba or Tropicália. Characterized by a mood that oscillates between rebellious socio-political commentary and melodic romanticism, it maintains a moderate to high tempo with diverse rhythmic patterns. Semantically, it serves as a regional evolution of the global Rock parent genre, deeply intertwined with the development of MPB and the Jovem Guarda movement.
