Arab Electronic-events deze maand in Parijs

Arab electronic music, often referred to as Arabtronica, is a contemporary genre that synthesizes traditional Middle Eastern melodic systems and rhythmic structures with modern electronic soundscapes. Originating in the late 20th century across cities like Beirut and Cairo, the genre employs synthesizers and drum machines alongside acoustic instruments such as the oud, ney, and darbuka. Its rhythmic foundations frequently draw from classical iqa'at patterns, resulting in complex, syncopated beats that vary from ambient textures to high-energy dance floor tracks. Emotionally diverse, the genre ranges from melancholic, microtonal explorations to ecstatic, percussion-driven anthems, serving as a cultural bridge between ancient musical heritage and globalized digital production techniques.
