Australian Rock-events deze week in Parijs

Australian rock, often referred to as Aussie rock, emerged in the late 1950s by blending American rock and roll with British influences before maturing into the distinctive, high-energy pub rock sound of the 1970s. Characterized by a raw, unpretentious mood and driven by standard instrumentation like distorted electric guitars and steady backbeat drums, the genre emphasizes live performance and anthemic choruses. Most tracks maintain a moderate to fast tempo with straightforward 4/4 rhythms that reflect a gritty, working-class sensibility. Semantically, it serves as a regional variant of hard rock and blues rock, defined by the unique isolation and competitive live circuit of the Australian music scene.
