Garage House-events deze week in Parijs

Garage house, often called New York garage, originated in the early 1980s at the Paradise Garage nightclub, evolving from disco through the legendary residency of DJ Larry Levan. This genre is characterized by its heavy emphasis on soulful, gospel-influenced vocals, melodic piano chords, and syncopated percussion patterns that distinguish it from the more mechanical four-on-the-floor of Chicago house. Typically operating within a tempo range of 120 to 126 BPM, the style prioritizes a warm, euphoric mood that fosters a sense of communal spirituality on the dancefloor. It serves as a crucial evolutionary link between classic soul-disco and contemporary soulful house, eventually laying the foundational rhythmic DNA for the later emergence of the UK garage scene.
