Czech Metal-concerten en liveshows in Praag

Czech metal refers to the heavy metal music scene originating in the Czech Republic, gaining significant momentum during the late 1980s as the country transitioned from socialist rule. Characterized by a blend of raw aggression and atmospheric experimentation, the genre often incorporates elements of black, thrash, and death metal, utilizing heavily distorted guitars, rapid double-bass drumming, and varying vocal styles from operatic to guttural. While it shares foundational roots with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, it distinguishes itself through lyrical themes often centered on occultism, historical narratives, and local folklore. This scene is globally respected for its unique, dark sonic texture that effectively bridges traditional heavy metal with more avant-garde extreme subgenres.
