Dutch Blues-concerten en liveshows in Rotterdam

Originating in the Netherlands during the mid-1960s, Dutch blues is a regional variation of the blues tradition that gained international prominence through pioneering acts like Cuby + Blizzards. The genre is characterized by its gritty, soulful delivery and traditional instrumentation featuring prominent electric guitar solos, wailing harmonica, and melancholic piano melodies over steady 4/4 rhythms. While heavily influenced by the Chicago blues sound and the British blues-rock explosion, it maintains a distinct European sensibility, often blending raw emotionality with polished musicianship. This genre serves as a cultural bridge between American roots music and the broader European rock scene, eventually influencing the development of Nederbeat and contemporary Dutch rock music.
