Kuduro-events deze maand in Rotterdam

Kuduro is a high-energy electronic dance music genre that emerged from the urban clubs of Luanda, Angola, during the late 1980s. It blends traditional Angolan semba and Caribbean soca with hard-hitting Western techno and house beats, typically characterized by a fast 4/4 rhythm and aggressive, syncopated percussion patterns. The instrumentation relies heavily on electronic samplers and drum machines, producing a raw, metallic sound specifically designed for frantic and athletic dancing styles. Often associated with political resilience and Angolan street culture, Kuduro maintains a celebratory yet rebellious mood that successfully bridges the gap between traditional African polyrhythms and modern global electronic music movements.
