Progressive Rock-concerten en liveshows in Rotterdam

Progressive rock emerged in the late 1960s across the United Kingdom and United States as an ambitious evolution of psychedelic rock that sought to elevate the genre to new levels of artistic credibility. Characterized by virtuosic instrumentation, it frequently utilizes synthesizers, Mellotrons, and complex percussion to build expansive, multi-movement compositions. The music is defined by frequent shifts in tempo and unconventional time signatures, often eschewing standard verse-chorus structures in favor of long-form narrative suites. This genre maintains a cerebral and often epic mood, bridging the gap between traditional rock, classical arrangements, and jazz fusion while emphasizing technical mastery and conceptual depth.
