Electro Swing-events in Zurich

Electro swing emerged in the late 1990s as a vibrant fusion genre that revitalizes vintage 1920s through 1940s swing, jazz, and big band influences with modern electronic production techniques. The instrumentation typically pairs live brass sections, acoustic guitars, and upright basses with house-style four-on-the-floor beats, synthesizers, and glitched vocal samples. Its rhythmic structure is characterized by a high-energy syncopated swing feel maintained at moderate to fast tempos, creating a mood that is simultaneously nostalgic, theatrical, and euphoric. Culturally and semantically, the genre serves as a bridge between the acoustic elegance of the swing era and the high-intensity drive of contemporary dance music, sharing significant DNA with nu jazz and swing house.
