Italian Singer Songwriter-events deze week in Zurich

Originating in the late 1950s, the Italian singer-songwriter genre, or musica d'autore, blends traditional Italian melody with influences from French chanson and American folk-rock. Primarily driven by acoustic guitar or piano, the instrumentation often features subtle orchestral arrangements designed to support deeply poetic and socially conscious lyrics. Tempos are generally moderate to slow, focusing on linguistic rhythm and emotional delivery rather than dancefloor utility. This genre occupies a unique space between folk and pop, prioritizing the intellectual weight of the message and the artist's personal narrative, often resulting in an introspective or satirical mood that defines Italian cultural identity.
