New Orleans Jazz-concerten en liveshows in Zurich

Originating in the vibrant cultural melting pot of early 20th-century Louisiana, New Orleans jazz represents a foundational pillar of American music that merged elements of blues, ragtime, and brass band traditions. The sound is defined by a distinctive polyphonic texture where a front line of cornet, trombone, and clarinet engages in collective improvisation over a driving rhythm section of tuba, banjo, and percussion. Characterized by the syncopated "Big Four" beat and a spirited, celebratory mood, it prioritizes a loose, swinging feel that bridges the gap between structured marches and modern swing. This style remains iconic for its communal energy and high-energy performances, frequently associated with second-line parade culture and festive social gatherings.
