Punk Rap-events in Zurich

Emerging in the mid-to-late 2010s, punk rap is a high-energy subgenre that fuses the rebellious ethos and abrasive sonic qualities of hardcore punk with contemporary trap and hip-hop. It features heavily distorted 808 basslines, screeching synthesizers, and lo-fi production techniques, often prioritizing a raw DIY aesthetic over polished studio engineering. The vocal delivery is characterized by shouting, screaming, and aggressive flows, while the tempo typically ranges from 120 to 160 BPM, creating a chaotic and nihilistic mood. Semantically, it serves as a bridge between the SoundCloud rap movement and the visceral intensity of alternative rock, sharing significant stylistic DNA with trap metal and emo rap.
