But orphaned by audience. I kid cause I do think this movie has a lot of dynamics going for it. I'm not gonna bog you down with too much of a play by play and really I feel like that you should try and tackle the material if it feels worthy of investing your time. Obviously this is above my pay grade in analyzing significant moments throughout this film as it really deals in Muslim religious elements with Djinn bringing on the demise of the earth via the sun and who resides in a sacred cave in Turkey known as "The Master" and a flautist is beckond with the help of a strange woman and a strange sound. He's told be his dying mom that she is the one and his father died burnt from the waist down while in flute position(I don't know if that's sitting or standing). A strange man who runs the call to prayer there helps him out but then things get crazier. I think this looks really good in it's style plus the Turkey location shots look spectacular with some haunting music that adds to the vibe of this film but alas I felt I just couldn't maintain my grasp on what to hold on to in this movie as we keep transition from locations sliced with insect insert shots to give us some visual parable? It's easy to describe this as a Jodorowsky style film or a Ken Russell fueled religious treatment of Mother Earth encoded message but I think Jamil Dehlavi really does deliver something unique here even if I found myself out of step with the material maybe due to my lack of Muslim texts that might make this have a heavier message. This all be said, if you want some crazy visuals to expand your mind then definitely check this one out and I hope you get more out of this than I did cause I got quite lost and could have used a Sherpa through this cinematic landscape.
