You all say you love camp and spectacle but then completely pan this. Look at this poster. Is it not scrumptious. Richard Harris wears eyeliner and Vanessa Redgrave wears chainmail dresses with ornate headpieces. They meet in a sound stage made to look like an enchanted winter forest and she's wearing a hood made of white fur. The screenplay is weirdly magnificent ("Thinking helps in everything. Everything but love, that is. Love is a sort of seventh day, so thinking can rest."), the songs are stunning, and Richard Harris delivers one of the most nuanced performances ever, but apparently you aren't ready for that conversation
I read The Once and Future King recently and this is a pretty bad adaptation that makes baffling choices about what parts of the text to keep and discard but also the song "Camelot" is so good that when they sing it I briefly forgive everything
