Tell me this isn't G.O.A.T.ed.I dare you. Because I'm gonna call you a liar.As a white dude who grew up in the inner city, this show was a reflection of my childhood. Watching this with a film degree years later, it's still fucking gas.It's like an absurdist Jarmusch film for younger audiences.

I kinda hate how much I have to say lolI’ve been watching some later episodes of this show and it really put in perspective why the pacing at the top and bottom of this thing barely feels like it has time to breathe. That’s p much how they paced every story back then, the set up especially always feels like it’s rushing to get to the narrative. It’s just more noticeable here since this isn’t an episode, it kind of operates like you watched two or three episodes right before you got to the theaterAt the same time tho, I’ve realized that since I’ve done my channel professionally (in the early stages at least) I had this weird obsession with being hypercritical of this movie, kind of tricking myself into thinking it’s mediocre or something. But man, this thing is nostalgic as all Hell. It’s fun as shit, there’s good laughs, the performances are all on point (especially the kids!)It’s one of the last times this franchise actually looked and sounded like itself. I miss the roughness of these colors, backgrounds and designs so much. The weird glow around the outlines, the odd choice to only shade like four principle characters. I hate that 19 year old me convinced himself that there was something wrong with any of that stuff.Because now, all I want is to have it back(Also lol what was up with the random Jamaican stereotype?? And why did Arnold’s grandma throw him off a moving bulldozer????)
