This is a vision of life that I wished I was in but also would say burdened by. Yes it feels like a worn novel in the back pocket of a person who is self indulgent to life but these characters and stories just feel so appealing in this cheaply shot black and white depiction of New York with so many social narratives that people went through like rent strikes. I honestly don't want to spoil the avenues that this goes down cause really it's not a story percée but more a life lived in this community as Mac's(David Brisbin) Life unfolds with his quixotic observations of life in which he partakes in and is somewhat enveloped with. This really was a movie that I was curious about but did not think would be as brilliant with it's subtilty of city life and really felt compelling. If you like an earnest track on an intellectual trying to find his own narrative amongst a bunch of colourful New Yorkers, then really check this out. You can forget your lunch because you are definitely gonna be devouring one of my best finds of this year.
