We watched this tonight to take it off the "Kate's Never Seen It" list. I always really loved this movie. Hanks and Newman are excellent, and Mendes' approach to the material is pretty terrific. As morality plays go, this one is little simpler than I remember, but handsomely mounted and elegant. A fine sophomore effort from MendesKate's take: "Beautiful movie, loved Jude Law as a villain. 6 out of 7 butts. Paul Newman was still hot. Also, Mike listened to the score a lot long before I saw this movie so I already felt like I'd seen this movie"
