As we continue to learn and grow in our understanding of gender conformity and the diversions thereof, most of the increasingly vitriolic, hate-fuelled discrimination from the conservative corners of our sociopolitical sphere is typically met by a simple assertion from LGBTQ+ allies that succinctly and immediately shoots down these baseless critiques: “How do these people living their lives affect yours in any real way?” It’s a useful trump card in that the rebuttals are typically steeped entirely in pointless and far-fetched hypotheticals, but with She’s Nonbinary, Jess McLeod proposes a parallel truth lying right under our noses: the ones most likely to truly have their lives affected by these life choices of another could, in theory, very well be those allies who would pose that question in the first place.~Read my full review over at HIGH ON FILMS~
