"Betty doesn't like camping!"A Random Roger invites Virginia's old school chum Betty on a camping trip with them (which turns out to be a hotel!?!) while on the train Virginia gets the hump and jumps off when she spots a spooky looking medieval town where she decides to spend the night which would have been fine if it wasn't for that damn radio of hers playing that god awful hip music! (they're blind not deaf!)"Hello is anybody there?"This is slow and shambles along just like the Blind Dead themselves, but is also not without it's moments of gore and nudity for the thrill monkeys out there ... so it does have something for everyone to enjoy then? (well it did spawn a few sequels!) "Very Gallant!"If I had to question something about this movie, then that would be about the horses the blind dead are riding; Are they blind? (does that matter?) Are they dead? (because at one point Virginia is riding one of them!) Where are the kept? Who feeds them? Who pays the vet bills? ... and so on and so on!

Movies like this are exactly my jam. Abandoned medieval cathedrals, remote countryside valleys, doomsaying gothic atmosphere, a totally unnecessary amount of lore building, haunting church chorales, bloodsucking undead Templar Knights riding zombie horses in slow motion, and a completely out-of-left-field “holy shit” ending that has zero chill. Just awesome. And to think, it all started because a chick got mad at her friends and decided to Irish exit herself from a moving train.P.S. Oh no! Boobies getting sliced to pieces!! Noooooo not the boobies!!!Movies More People Should See

I’ve watched this more times than I can count and it’s always a pleasure to revisit.A group of people visit an ancient village and accidentally awaken a bunch of (un)dead Templar Knights. Don’t you just hate it when that happens? This movie has some of the most amazing atmosphere I’ve ever seen. The slo-mo shots of the knights galloping on their AWESOME undead horses are just so haunting and beautiful. There’s a scene that takes place inside a photography studio that has the same excellent use of color and light (and zombie effects) as The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue. The music is equally amazing with its low key chanting and wailing.Yes, it can be a little slow, but this is a total mood movie and rather than bore me, it puts me in a sort of hypnotic trance like all those other downbeat 70’s horror films tend to do. The ending is that bleak stuff I love. Definitely worth checking out.
