Jozef Kroner (1924–1998) was a legendary Slovak film, television, and theater actor without formal academic training who became one of the most beloved figures in Czechoslovak cinematic history. He achieved international acclaim for his powerful lead performance in the Academy Award-winning film The Shop on Main Street (1965). Throughout a prolific career spanning decades, he excelled in both profound dramatic works and iconic comedic roles.

Hij is internationaal vooral bekend om zijn aangrijpende hoofdrol als Antonin Brtko in het Oscarwinnende drama The Shop on Main Street en zijn geliefde komische rol in Pacho, the Brigand of Hybe.
