Edmund MacDonald was an American character actor who appeared in numerous films during the 1930s and 1940s. Often cast in supporting roles as heavies or law enforcement in B-pictures, crime dramas, and Westerns, he is perhaps best known for his role in the classic noir Detour (1945). His career was relatively brief, concluding in the late 1940s shortly before his death in 1951.
