JLZ

Known as JLZ, João Luiz is a Music Producer and DJ born in Ceilândia, Brazil. He officially began producing in 2014 drawing on past experiences while constantly exploring and evolving his work in his home country and abroad. Keeps in search for sounds with meaning breaking away from the ordinary, his explorations established him as a reference in Brazil and around the world. As a member of the Weird Baile collective and resident at Oroko Radio - an independent community radio station based in Ghana, he continues to push his sound beyond borders. He dedicates his work and research around a diversity of percussion present in his songs. As a Music Producer and DJ he released on Team Oneself (MEX), Thump en español (MEX), WILE OUT (USA), International Chrome (BER), Klubikon (HR), Solta (BR), Slum Waves (BR), Rinse France (FR), NAAFI (MEX), Function (BR), Promesses (FR), ZONAexp (BR), AGVA (ARG), Muakk (CO), ALGOL (BR), Swine Daily (SVK), PAYNOMINDTOUS (IT), Tormenta (BR), Salviatek (UY). He's worked w/ artists as Linn da Quebrada, Mia Badgyal, Jaloo and Tuyo. Also co-produced Baco Exu do Blues last 3 albums: Bluesman, QVVJFA? this which was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2022, and latest release HASOS in 2025. His last tour had a successfull go around in Venues such as Tresor (Berlin), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Fuchs2 (Prague), Motel Campo (Geneva), alongside parties and collectives as International Chrome (DE), Swine Daily (CZ), Nitro Club (ES), Ozadya (CH), Oroko Radio (GH).
