Faux Amis
Faux Amis is a French-American duo led by Noé Boon and Richard Sears. Both emerging from the jazz scene of Los Angeles, the pair meets in Paris in 2022, thanks to musician Louis Cole. An original soundtrack marks the beginning of their collaboration, the Arte/A24 series Icon of French Cinema, directed by Judith Godrèche. They later compose the music for her short-film Moi Aussi (presented at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival), a film whose song “Shadow of Another Life” was released on June 7. “Friends of Faux Amis”, such is their motto. Their sessions reunite the friends that inspire them: Beth Orton, Hamir Atwal, or even Sam Wilkes, bassist extraordinaire with whom they recorded their new EP, whose first single is set to be released in early 2025.
