Tunnel Rats

The Tunnel Rats are a legendary mega crew that took form in 1993 at OG Hex’s hip-hop shop on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, California. Known for their raw, authentic lyrics and incredible West Coast beats, the Tunnel Rats, or "TRz," carved out a unique sound in the hip-hop scene thanks to their unashamed proclamation of their Christian faith mixed with aggressive battle rap. All Roads Lead Back to LPG     Living Proof of Grace, or LPG, was founded in 1983 by cousins Dax and Jurny, born out of their love for hip-hop and ministry. Dax’s father, Dave, aka the “first Tunnel Rat,” served in the Vietnam War on a small volunteer team of soldiers whose job was to go into the tunnels dug by the Vietcong to find and dismantle bombs so that American forces could move forward. In other words, they were in the underground leading the way for the rest of the world. This was the inspiration not just for the crew name but also for the mission.     This mega crew has seen many iterations and has included subgroups and solo acts. Celebrate a mix of talents, ethnic and gender diversity, multi-generational crew, hailing from a faith-based community broadcasting live from Los Angeles, California.
