Ellis Esco

Ellis Esco is a Rapper/songwriter hailing out of West Bromwich, Birmingham. Showcasing his versatility in all aspects of creation, his upbringing exposed him to a vast library of Soul & R&B, alongside the sounds of the 90’s rave scene and early noughties Hiphop/Garage. Having found a passion early on in life he began experimenting with his sound until he felt ready to share it with the world. Performing at small open mic venues throughout the city helped him hone in and fine-tune his artistry. Often collaborating with London-based producer Tracksuit Monk & Readymeal Sound collective out of Leeds, he uses his storytelling ability and melodic hooks to paint a picture over Jazzhop/Lo-fi feels. 2023 birthed a new chapter in the evolution of Ellis Esco, teaming up with friend and local legendary producer/engineer Casey Orange they formed a duo titled nocontext. This gave them a new vision and drive to experiment with genres fairly unknown to them and explore a more electronic avenue. A 2023 collaboration with Satl entitled Sundress has seen Ellis recognised in the Drum and Bass scene. Since then features with Heavyweight names including Teej, Objectiv, Redeyes & Trail have seen his upward trajectory gain fast-moving momentum. ~ Mark Bickerdike
