Twenty-seven-year-old SAAD TIOULY is a Gnaoui artist in his own right, as only the ancient medina of Casablanca can produce. Since his childhood, he has been immersed in Gnaoua’s world, developing a particular sensitivity to this music. Serene and contemplative, Saad Tiouly is an author, composer, performer and craftsman. His thirst for exploring the musical possibilities offered by his voice and the original instruments he makes gives him a singular maturity and potential. For over ten years, Saad has represented a new generation of polymorphous artists, rooted in local influences and steeped in African musical universes. The young prodigy has carved out a career of diverse performances, concerts and artistic residencies, accompanied by Moroccan and international musicians, playing with his troupe and solo. Today, Saad is entirely dedicated to musical creation, working to make Moroccan heritage shine, and aspiring to become an ambassador of Moroccan musical heritage abroad.
Saad Tiouly performs a blend of traditional Moroccan Gnawa, Issawa, and Dakka Marrakchia music, infused with a modern, psychedelic sensibility, often featuring instruments like the guembri and qraqebs.
