Desiderat is an international Berlin-based instrumental progressive metal band. It was initially founded in 2018 by both guitarists and released their first single with three songs in 2021. In November 2024 the band released their first full-length album "Ipsoma". The music combines heavy riffs using motifs from various genres of metal with melancholic melodies and atmospheric interludes. The influences of their members’ different cultural and musical backgrounds are manifested in the songs, making them diverse and suspenseful. Each song tells another personal story resulting in a unique structural and emotional development for the song.
