Sarah Hanahan is an up-and-coming jazz saxophonist in New York City. She is a graduate of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music where she received her Bachelors degree in 2019, as well as The Juilliard School where she received her Masters degree in 2022. Hailed by NPR’s “Youngbloods” series as a star in the making, Hanahan has put her name on the map by performing and touring with renowned musicians including Peter Martin, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Joe Farnsworth, Steve Davis, and the Grammy award-winning Mingus Big Band. She also tours nationally and internationally with her own band, and plays consistently around NYC in well-known clubs like Dizzy's Club, Smoke Jazz Club, and Smalls. Sarah Hanahan is a generational talent on the rise. Her debut album, Among Giants, featuring Marc Cary, Nat Reeves, and Jeff Watts will be released under Jazz at Lincoln Center’s label, Blue Engine, on June 21st, 2024.
