Ulf Leo Sommer hat seine musikalische Ausbildung mit und bei Rosenstolz gemacht. Gemeinsam mit Peter Plate macht er seit über dreißig Jahren Musik. Er schrieb und produzierte unter anderem für Rosenstolz, Sarah Connor, Bibi und Tina, Max Raabe und 2Raumwohnung. Ku’damm 56 ist nach „Bibi und Tina, die große Show“ und „Romeo und Julia“ das dritte Musical von den Beiden.
