James Bermingham

James Bermingham is a Dublin-based singer-songwriter, musician and producer whose music combines classic songwriting with electronic production, drawing inspiration from artists such as George Michael, Billy Joel, Seal, Sasha and BT. For many years, James quietly wrote, recorded and produced original music while building his life and career around music. Much of that work remained unheard, sitting in archives, hard drives etc.. long after it had been written. In 2019, he began opening that vault. Starting with song demo's originally recorded during the 1990s, James set about releasing a catalogue of music that had spent decades waiting to be heard. What began as an act of preservation became a renewed creative journey, reconnecting him with songs, ideas and emotions that had travelled with him through much of his life. A lifelong musician, James studied piano and trumpet from an early age before developing a passion for synthesizers, arrangement and music production. Today he writes, performs, arranges and produces his own material, blending melodic piano-led songwriting with rich electronic textures and contemporary production techniques. His music reflects a love of strong melodies, heartfelt lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes, creating a sound that bridges singer-songwriter influences with modern electronic music. These songs are more than new releases. They are the rediscovery of a body of work years in the making, finally finding its way into the world.
