Nomine

Nomine is a respected figure in UK underground dance music, with over two and a half decades of experience across DJing, production, pirate radio, label work, promotion, and education. Self taught and independent, his career has evolved through curiosity and craft rather than trends. He began in the mid 1990s as a jungle and drum and bass DJ ‘DJ RAGE’, co founding Shock FM in Bedford before becoming active in the London scene and on Rinse FM. Touring internationally from a young age, he later adopted the name Outrage to avoid confusion with MC Rage and to honour the culture he came from. Alongside his drum and bass work, Nomine emerged as a distinct artistic identity. The Nomine sound is best described as world music electronica with a strong emphasis on bass. It blends tribal rhythm, dub, a range of electronic music genres and global musical influences, centred on heavy low end, hypnotic repetition, and organic instrumentation. This sound has found a wide audience beyond clubs, festivals and within dance and movement communities worldwide. While continuing to release drum and bass as Outrage on labels including Metalheadz and Function Records, Nomine’s work remains focused on depth, longevity, and connection, using bass driven electronic music as a shared physical and emotional experience.
