An underground soundtrack artist.
Martin Štefánik is a composer and pianist who studied composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU). In 2016, he founded the music project Ľudové Mladistvá, which has received multiple awards. He has composed music for numerous theatre and dance productions (SND, Astorka, Štúdio 12, Folk_Lab). He also co-created music for films such as The Sluggard Clan, Hanging Without Walls. In 2024, he launched the audiovisual project Stefanik, in collaboration with Ján Šicko and Mucha Quartet. He has composed music for the Folk Instruments Orchestra under the direction of Ján Kružliak, and created a special composition in honor of Marián Varga for the Konvergencie festival. He is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU), focusing on the development of post-digital musical instruments.
Martin Štefánik composes contemporary classical works, cinematic soundtracks, and experimental electronic music that blends acoustic orchestration with post-digital sound design.
His live performances and audiovisual projects incorporate multidisciplinary collaborations with string quartets, electronic setups, and theatrical elements.
