Tom River is an Australian folk artist shaped by movement, solitude, and long stretches on the road. After spending the last few years touring the world with Salt Tree, he began carving out a more personal space for songs that felt quieter, closer, and entirely his own. Living between Switzerland and Australia, Tom taught himself music production while busking across Europe, writing wherever he landed. Every Tom River song is entirely self-recorded, produced, and mixed, reflecting a hands-on approach built through years of trial, travel, and listening. With a background as a mechanical engineer, his music balances precision and restraint with warmth and vulnerability. These are songs made slowly, shaped by distance and experience, and intended to feel lived-in rather than polished.
