After a move across the world, LA native Austin Clarizio wrote and recorded a concept album about the phases of grieving following a traumatic breakup. Mere days after completing a rough mix of the album, he met a stranger in the Vondelpark, who happened to be a keyboard player, with a roommate who was a drummer. After playing them the album in full, they formed the international indiepop / alternative pop band stardog. stardog is not interested in chasing trends, rather, we are intent on creating a musical experience that can transcend genre and generation. At the heart of this mission is a heavy emphasis on the art form of the song, making no concessions, we are fully focused on creating emotionally potent, catchy, and most importantly, memorable music that can connect with a large audience. We are heavily inspired by 90s and 00s acts like Third Eye Blind, the Kooks and MGMT as they have written music which broke past their alternative niche and became truly anthemic for entire generations. We see ourselves as the logical successors in this lineage of acts turned pop sensations. The scope and vision of stardog encompass not only the sound and style of the band, but a band aura as well: The audience screams the lyrics at the top of their lungs, the songs are melancholic and danceable, the emotion and energy are palpable. No matter what, everyone is smiling, doing what we were meant to do, connect over the peaks and valleys of life through the sound of great fucking music
