Alessia Tondo
Alessia Tondo is an Italian singer and songwriter from Apulia, widely recognized as a representative voice of the Salento region, working at the crossroads of oral tradition and contemporary music. She began her career within Southern Italian folk traditions and became a soloist with the La Notte della Taranta Orchestra at a young age, collaborating with leading composers and artists including Ludovico Einaudi, Giovanni Sollima. Her collaboration with Ludovico Einaudi includes writing the lyrics for Nuvole Bianche within the Taranta Project, bridging minimalist composition and Mediterranean vocal heritage. In 2025, she featured as a guest vocalist on the ensemble’s album released by Deutsche Grammophon, and has been collaborating since 2025 on the project Sentieri with Giovanni Sollima and Avi Avital. Since 2015, Alessia Tondo has been a member of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, winner of the Songlines Music Award for Best World Music Group. Her solo debut album Sita (2021), acclaimed by international critics, marks the beginning of an artistic research into the healing power of the voice, further explored in the documentary Guaritrici(2023). In 2025, she also took part in the recordings of La Santa Pennianza by Cesare Cremonini.
