Sixes & Sevens

Sixes & Sevens used to be a band defined by frantic rhythms, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and explosive bursts of adrenaline—a sound blending desert rock grit, alternative edges, and hard-hitting rock energy. But in the past year, things have changed. While their most recent EP marked a transitional step, the new album they are currently working on is where the band fully commits to their introspective turn: a real attempt to examine human contact through music. To undertake this effort, they’ve funneled the lessons from their high-intensity early days into a more experimental, alternative, and at times even art-rock approach. With members from Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, and Argentina, Sixes & Sevens was formed when guitarist Heymi Dannon and guitarist/singer Stefanos Lemesios moved from New York to Amsterdam. There, they crossed paths with drummer Alejandro Alonso and bassist Juan Cruz through a musicians’ networking app, forming an inspiring connection that sparked the band’s newest direction. Their debut album, released in May 2024, captured their earlier identity: a high-energy, no-holds-barred ode to rock ’n’ roll. Their transitional EP followed, pointing toward deeper, more reflective ideas. Now, the new album dives fully into this direction—exploring themes such as isolation, loneliness, and longing. With it, Sixes & Sevens embark on a long journey into troubled waters through which they hope to uncover what it means to truly connect.
