Svens Vilsons

Svens Vilsons is a Latvian jazz guitarist and composer based in Riga. He has been an active musician for over ten years, playing in various jazz and popular music projects. Vilsons has also begun composing and arranging, especially in recent years. His music is inspired by jazz language and various other styles like funk, western and world music. In his music, Vilsons often reflects on the theme of nature, and it is also important to him that humor and joy are present in the music. Active in the Baltic jazz scene, Vilsons performs both as a bandleader and collaborator, presenting original music with a focus on interaction, sound, and musical storytelling. His work reflects a growing generation of Baltic jazz artists exploring a personal voice within contemporary European jazz.
