From the age of 11, Kris played guitar and wore her heart on her sleeve. Always a fan of great vocalists, this shines through in what has been described as ‘a voice like sugared espresso’. Moving from her first band in Mississippi in the 80s to her own band in the 90s in Nashville to her transatlantic pop rock folk duo Cicero Buck, based in the U.K. with husband bassist/writer, Joe Hughes, now with an Americana ‘Nashville meets Southern Gothic flair (8/10 AmericanaUK), My Girl The River Gaines critical acclaim on their first release in 2016 with 8.1 stars from Paste Magazine, a tour with Suzanne Vega and a spot at the Isle of Wight festival. Their newest album, Cardinal in the Snow, was produced by award winner Neilson Hubbard and includes Will Kimbrough (Emmylou Harris), Kristin Wilkinson (Brandi Carlile), and other fabulous musicians. Beautiful reviews and international airplay continue to put My Girl The River up there with some of the best writers around today.
