Erleben Sie Økse live: Avant-Hip-Hop und Free Jazz mit explosiver Instrumentierung im Palace St. Gallen. Tickets auf Mood.
Økse takes its name from the Danish word for axe, but the four musicians have turned this chopping tool into a versatile musical instrument. Formed in 2022 initially for a single concert at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival by Mette Rasmussen and Savannah Harris, the group expanded to include Val Jeanty and Petter Eldh. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2024, blending avant-hip-hop and free jazz with guest contributions from artists like billy woods and ELUCID. In 2025, the project won the German Jazz Prize for best international album and a Danish Music Award, celebrated for their unpredictable and explosive live performances.
