Noise Rock-Konzerte und Live-Shows in Zurich

Noise rock emerged in the late 1970s as a confrontational fusion of punk energy and avant-garde experimentation, finding its roots in the No Wave movement and early post-punk scenes. The genre is characterized by abrasive, dissonant electric guitar textures, heavy use of feedback, and unconventional song structures that prioritize textural intensity over traditional melody. Instrumentation typically follows a standard rock quartet format, but instruments are often manipulated through extreme distortion and unorthodox playing techniques to produce chaotic, industrial-inflected soundscapes. Often occupying the space between hardcore punk and industrial music, noise rock delivers a visceral, high-grit experience defined by its aggressive rhythmic drive and challenging, anti-commercial aesthetic.
